Workshop 1. 14.00 to 16.00 BST. 5th October, 2026: Coaching with and for Nature with Nikki Ayles MSc, MAPP

Coaching with nature can offer clients and coaches a variety of cognitive, emotional and psychophysiological benefits, from improved focus, perspective and creativity, to increased synchronous alignment, as well as natural phenomena offering powerful metaphors that can lead to lead to valuable client learnings and breakthroughs. However, by also harnessing the construct of nature connectedness through coaching, especially with leaders, we may also be able to contribute towards addressing the wicked problems associated with biodiversity loss and the climate crisis.

Workshop 2. 14.00 to 16.00 BST. 6th October, 2026: Coaching for Calm: Psychological Skills for Stress Regulation, Resilience and Wellbeing with Prof Stephen Palmer & Dr Siobhain O’Riordan

Coaching for Calm: Psychological Skills for Stress Regulation, Resilience and Wellbeing is a practical two-hour workshop introducing participants to coaching psychology approaches for helping individuals manage pressure, regulate stress and strengthen wellbeing. The workshop explores how people interpret stressful situations, how these appraisals influence emotional, physiological and behavioural responses, and how coaching can support more flexible and constructive ways of responding.

Participants will be introduced to the CALM Coaching Process:

Clarify what is happening and what the person would like to be different;

Appraise how they are interpreting and responding to the situation;

Look again to identify alternative or more flexible perspectives;

Mobilise strengths, resources and practical actions.

The CALM Coaching Process is a brief integrative cognitive-behavioural and solution-focused approach for helping people respond more calmly, flexibly and constructively to manageable stress and pressure.

Through reflection, discussion and paired coaching practice, participants will learn how to apply CALM to manageable, non-clinical sources of stress and pressure. The workshop also considers the importance of recovery, personal resources and sustainable coping strategies. It concludes with the development of a realistic personal action plan and provides a natural transition into the subsequent 45-minute experiential relaxation session.

Workshop 5 – 10.00 to 12.00 BST. 8th October, 2026: Stories of Divergence: Experiences of Facing and Embracing Divergent Paradigms, with Ms. Penny Adams, Steven Breger, Anna Dingani, Dr Anna-Rosa le Roux & Dr Gail Wrogemann

Every coaching relationship eventually reaches a point of divergence — a moment when the coach’s and client’s ways of learning, thinking, and being no longer align with the paradigms they have relied upon. It is the threshold where psychologists, coaches, and organisational leaders confront the unlearning required when lived experience begins to contradict their dominant assumptions.
This masterclass explores three such moments of divergence that are reshaping the coaching profession today, and what it means to help people not only cope with them, but also genuinely embrace them.
We begin with learning divergence — the recognition that there is no single “right” way to acquire, process, and apply knowledge, and what this means for how coaches design developmental conversations. We move to neurodivergence — exploring what it means to work with minds that are wired differently, and how coaching practice must adapt when the goal is not to normalise a client, but to help them build a life and career that works with their brain rather than against it. Finally, we turn to a divergence of a different kind entirely: coaching in the age of AI, where the paradigm shifting is not the client’s, but the profession’s own; as artificial intelligence reshapes how people learn, reflect, set goals, and relate to one another at work.
Each represents a different way of being, thinking, and working that resists the “one right way” assumption that coaching inherited. Drawing on phenomenologically lived experiences as well as human-centred coaching perspectives, this masterclass asks what it means to genuinely face and embrace divergence, rather than to manage, normalise, or fear it. Participants will leave with practical frameworks for recognising and working with divergence in their own coaching practice.
