Masterclass, 4th October, 2022, 14.00 to 17.00 BST
ACT Coaching: Using Functional Processes in Your Coaching Practice
Facilitator: Dr Rachael Skews
In this session, Dr Rachael Skews will explore how coaches can harness behaviour change processes effectively in coaching. Using ACT as an example, but extending into other CBT coaching psychology approaches and techniques, Rachael will outline how coaches can use psychological knowledge of human functioning, languaging and behaviour to help coachee’s move more effectively towards vital and meaningful goals. Coaches will have the opportunity to practice how they might use processes in a new coaching contract within the masterclass.
This session will draw on research and literature in process-based CBT, relational frame theory, and acceptance and commitment theory. Coaches will not need any prior knowledge of these areas to attend the masterclass, and will be provided with follow up reading to continue their learning post-session.
